Currently Onsite: We’ve got a lot going on – things are cookin’ this month! The exterior weather proofing is complete; including the sealant that is a bright yellow color – don’t worry, it won’t stay that way! The exterior insulation and stucco application has begun. The finished exterior will be a few different materials, including Nichiha (a fiber cement siding product), stucco, and brick. Lastly, the storefront glass on the first floor has been installed.  Ceilings are being finished through the 4th floor and corridors, 2nd and 3rd floor framing is complete and 4th floor framing is in progress. The plumbing, HVAC and electrical system rough-ins are all being completed on the 2nd floor and starting on the 3rd. Low voltage systems (cat 6 cables) are being pulled through the building to provide residents with their cable, internet, security, data systems, etc. Lastly, fireplaces are being installed – did we mention every home has a cozy fireplace? Up Next: On the ground floor: the parking garage will be completed, and we’ll begin to prepare for site development, like sidewalks, a patio for the retail space and landscaping. You’ll see garage doors installed soon, which will include a big door for the shared, secure garage, but also for the FOUR PRIVATE garages with their own entrance from the exterior, that come with the four largest units. Look for siding, and brick going on the exterior and last, but not least, interior drywall. Neighborhood Highlight: Just a block away from The Collection, at 127 E. 5th St., you’ll find the fabulous Verboten Brewing Barrel Project. These fine folks, who are nice enough to host our Broker Open coming up on June 21 (where we’ll have a beer then walk over for a tour of the building), are open Mon.-Sun. from 12:00 p.m. - to 10:00 p.m. Their beers are an exciting mix of traditional styles and experimental brews. They create unique beers taking typical beer styles and adding their own twist to make their weekly rotating selections new, exciting and verboten (forbidden in German)!
